London, United Kingdom – Thomas Power, co-founder of Ecademy, the social network for business people with over 95,000 members worldwide, was recently invited to be a business coach and mentor at Roger Hamilton’s Entrepreneurs Business School because Ecademy has trebled in size in three years. The team agree this accelerated growth is partly due to the natural momentum of networking and word of mouth, underpinned by Roger’s ‘Wealth Dynamics’ principles which strengthened the management team. Whilst in Bali, Thomas bid $4,000 US dollars in a fundraising auction for the first signed copy of Roger’s new book entitled ‘Your Life, Your Legacy’. The bidding was intense for this item ‘hot off the press’ and you can meet Roger at London seminars from 16th October.
Why pay so much for a book signed by an author relatively unknown in the UK? Apart from the charity aspect, Thomas Power is a great advocate of the business benefits of ‘Wealth Dynamics’, which was born out of Roger’s own business failures and eventual success as a self-made millionaire. (Roger now runs ten businesses in fourteen countries).
Thomas and Penny Power established Ecademy with Glenn Watkins in the dot.com era, and they created a free online platform service which grew to 20,000 members in 2003. In the days of everyone expecting free internet content and ever-increasing functionality Ecademy took a risk and changed the business model to paid subscriptions. Thomas Power met Roger Hamilton in 2004 and signed a partnership deal to introduce Wealth Dynamics principles to Ecademy members. Ecademy launched the ‘Black Star life members’ club and also expanded its management team to eight people, adding core skills.
Penny Power’s profile showed she was not working in her optimum job role so Roger helped Penny redefine her life purpose. Penny developed a higher profile as the ‘face’ of the business which strengthened Ecademy’s appeal to a wider audience and Ecademy has trebled in size each year since then. It now has 9,500 paying members, with 95,000 subscribers worldwide.
And the auction Thomas Power contributed to? Roger Hamilton’s message is all about clarity of vision and focus, so it is fitting that all proceeds go to the John Fawcett Foundation, where an individual’s sight can be restored for as little as £20.
Such action befits the new breed of entrepreneur who takes social responsibility seriously. Members of Roger Hamilton’s XL Foundation are encouraged to sign up to World Wide Wealth to give 10% of their company’s annual profits to charity. In 2002, Roger set up XL 2020 and the $1Billion Dollar Challenge. Entrepreneurs around the world are donating newly created wealth to halve world poverty by 2015 and eliminate it by 2025. Thousands of entrepreneurs are giving away their hard-earned cash and the goal is being reached faster than expected. It resembles the bold moves of people like Warren Buffett who recently pledged his personal fortune of US $40 billion to charity through the Bill Gates Foundation.
Roger runs a network of over 66,000 entrepreneurs and has taught over 100,000 entrepreneurs how to restructure their businesses to generate wealth more easily. If you would like to hear more, following his successful September tour, Roger Hamilton returns to England to run seminars in central London, week commencing 16th October.
