Wokingham, United Kingdom. A record 7,000 visitors from the world’s leading banks and retailers visited this year’s Wincor World exhibition in Paderborn, Germany, 24 -26 January.
Wincor Nixdorf launched new anti-fraud measures for ATMs, new automated cash and cheque deposit systems, and advanced self-service checkout systems for retailers.
Speaking at Wincor World, UK Managing Director Paul Fisher said, “Both banking and retailing are moving towards greater automation of commodity tasks, and using the cost savings to provide enhanced customer service. Wincor Nixdorf understands the drive towards self-service, and delivers the products, solutions and services that reduce costs and increase user satisfaction.”
Banking
Wincor Nixdorf announced new systems that automate cheque and cash deposits, for use in retail bank branches.
These innovative terminals read handwritten cheques and deposit slips, provide on-screen confirmation of the details, complete the credit transaction and print a customer receipt. The same Wincor Nixdorf systems can handle cash – identifying both notes and coins – providing a fully automated deposit service.
The Wincor Nixdorf automated deposit terminals (ADMs) automate and reduce time - consuming manual transactions by removing work from the bank’s cashier desks, help to cut staffing costs, and offer a rapid and reliable service to customers.
Retail
A new range of self-service retail solutions from Wincor Nixdorf was on display, including solutions that allow consumers to price and pay for their own shopping without the need to queue for a cashier. The systems are designed to enhance the customer experience – running a continuous checkout total as they shop – and to cut cashier costs for retailers.
The Wincor Nixdorf hand-held barcode scanner, Personal Shopping Assistant links to a central self-service checkout terminal that accepts card payments and issues receipts. The system integrates with back-office stock and finance systems, simultaneously offering a swifter service for shoppers and lower operational costs for retailers.
Wincor World
“Wincor World demonstrates Wincor Nixdorf’s dedication to banking and retail services,” commented Paul Fisher. “The products, services and solutions from Wincor Nixdorf offer new ways to serve customers better and we are proud to have attracted record numbers of guests to Wincor World.”
