5th February 2007
Two Wiltshire public relations consultancies and an in-house PR department were today (Friday 2nd February) honoured for their work at the annual Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Awards.
Taking the title for the best Small Team or Sole Practitioner category, Blue Click PR was honoured for its very successful strategy of consistently building clients’ brands by associating them with blue chip brands.
The in-house PR department at Wiltshire County Council was a Finalist in the Use of Internal Communication category and Vox PR was a Finalist in the Best Use of Media Relations category for its work to attract more visitors to the Science Museum at Wroughton.
The 2007 West of England PRide Awards were the most successful awards to date, receiving 129 entries from the region, which stretches from Gloucestershire in the north to the southern-most tip of Cornwall.
Award categories include the most impressive integrated PR campaign, the best consumer campaign and the top business-to-business campaign. There are also prizes awarded to the best young communicator, small team or sole practitioner, and the PR Team of the Year.
In evaluating the awards submissions, the judges looked for a clear description of campaign objectives, original creativity and a successful result.
CIPR Director General Colin Farrington, said, "Winning a PRide Award demonstrates peer approval and that you are producing some of the best work in your region. Through these awards PR practitioners are able to showcase the good work they are doing and the contribution they make to business and society."
CIPR in the West of England Lis Anderson added: “We were delighted to receive so many entries this year which is a testament to the quality and quantity of excellent PR work in our region.”
