Barclays Bank, HSBC & Wincor Nixdorf Win ‘The Banker’s’ Global Technology Awards, Helped by Blue Click PR.
6th June 2006, Swindon – Global ATM (Automated Teller Machines) manufacturer Wincor Nixdorf asked IT public relations specialist Blue Click PR to write entries for The Banker magazine’s prestigious global technology awards this year. Together with clients Barclays Bank and HSBC, they came away with two global wins and one highly commended out of four entries. Wincor Nixdorf is the only vendor to win two awards this year.
The Banker magazine is part of the Financial Times and the awards, now in their fourth year, attracted 285 entries from the banking industry all over the world. Never having entered awards before, Wincor Nixdorf UK was the only vendor in this fierce competition to win two categories.
Wincor Nixdorf and Barclays Bank won the New Channel innovation award for its Kiosk project and received a ‘Highly Commended’ for its outsourcing project. The branch refurbishment rollout implemented by HSBC with assistance from Wincor Nixdorf won the New Channels Project category.
Rhona Jack, Blue Click PR’s Managing Director and a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations said ‘We are thrilled our agency was instrumental in raising awareness of Wincor Nixdorf’s superb technology solutions. The raw material was great but we still had to present it convincingly. Our thanks to everyone who assisted.’
Wincor Nixdorf’s Managing Director Paul Fisher comments ‘This is an outstanding achievement. The judges are drawn from all the major banking institutions so we’re delighted that industry leaders recognise the world-class solutions we offer. We worked together with Blue Click PR to get our message across. We had only worked together for two months so this project provided a quick, high-performance return on investment.’
According to Dan Barnes, The Banker’s judge and award organiser ‘Other winners include the largest bank in the world and leading banks in several countries. Competition was stiff! All judges are well-qualified to judge innovations and projects in this industry. Every winner beat another eight in that category and given the quality of entries, that was no mean feat. This team is world-beating!’
Based in Swindon, Blue Click PR was established in 2000 and handles public relations for the Museum of Computing which has achieved global media coverage on a number of occasions. Rhona continued ‘We have helped clients win national awards before including ‘IT Training Company of the Year’, but it was a great responsibility writing material to be judged at global level. These results recognise the quality of our work and our ability to give clients a truly competitive edge!’
The Global Awards ceremony is on June 8th at the Sheraton Hotel, Park Lane, London.
