• Short-listed as potential for Training Company of the Year • Down to last 3 from 11 entries in IT industry awards
August 21st 2001 – Horizon MTS, the Cisco focused internetworking IT Training company, has been shortlisted for the first time as ‘Training Company of the Year’ in the Services category of the Computing Awards 2001.
The Computing Awards were set up nine years ago to officially recognise the excellence of IT products and services and special contributions made by companies and individuals in the industry. According to Computing, these awards are widely recognised as the most prestigious and highly sought after awards in the IT market.
Peter Olive, Horizon MTS Worldwide Director is delighted. Since Horizon Technical Services acquired Managed Training Services (MTS) in April 2000, there has been significant growth and the company has been repositioned within the UK market. A particular focus has been the pursuit of new technology areas with delegates coming from 22 countries for a wide range of services including Cisco service provider and cable training. Another important growth factor has been strengthening partnerships with Cisco and their channel partners. According to Peter Olive, ‘It is a real honour to have our teams’ efforts recognised externally. Being short-listed demonstrates our commitment to excellence in everything we do. Computing magazine has a circulation of 135,000 IT Professionals so this sends all the right messages to our key target audience.’
The team at Horizon MTS has a track record of being associated with award wins. Last year, the newly merged company was voted Network Training Company of the Year at the Network Industry Awards from an entry put together by MTS (Managed Training Services) staff. This year Horizon MTS was a finalist for the same NIA awards.
The Awards judging panel includes industry heavyweights such as Managing Directors and Director Generals of organisations covering a broad spectrum of industries, as well as a selection of senior Computing Editorial staff. Final judging will take place on October 3rd in London at the Grosvenor House Hotel. - ends -
